Terms & conditions

Important information for students and families about fees, conduct, examinations and safeguarding.

By enrolling at Geraldine Lamb Dance School, students and families agree to the terms below. For booking and live class times, see our timetable or book online.

Fees & payments

  • All students must complete an online registration form before attending classes.
  • Tuition fees are due on the first timetabled lesson of each five-week block. Prompt payment discounts apply on that day only. If you are not present, please pay by bank transfer.
  • Fees are calculated across 30 teaching weeks per year, divided into six blocks of five weeks.
  • Fees are not discounted or refunded for missed lessons. Lessons may be made up at another venue where available; please check before attending.
  • Private lessons must be paid for when booked. Forty-eight hours' notice is required to cancel a private lesson.
  • Pupils are automatically re-enrolled each term unless we receive written notice to stop. Two weeks' written notice is required to withdraw from the school.

Code of conduct

  • We aim to provide a safe, nurturing environment for every student. The school is responsible for pupils during timetabled classes only.
  • Students should inform their teacher at the start of class about any injury.
  • Parents wishing to speak to a teacher should arrange a telephone appointment where possible to avoid delaying classes.
  • Bullying, aggressive or anti-social behaviour is not tolerated from students, parents or visitors.
  • Teachers will only discuss a student's progress with their parent or guardian.
  • Appropriate physical contact may be used when teaching dance technique safely.
  • Correct uniform is required for each class. Hair must be secured off the face; from Grade 4 and vocational levels, hair must be in a bun unless otherwise advised.
  • The school must be informed in writing if a student attends external dance classes, auditions or performances. Students may not attend another dance school for similar styles.

Media & photography

  • Students may be photographed or filmed during school activities for publicity and social media. Please inform us in writing if you do not wish your child to be included in future publications.
  • Press releases relating to students and the school must be arranged through the school principal.

Examinations

  • Students will be notified by email when considered ready for an examination entry. Fees and forms must be returned before the closing date.
  • Regular attendance is essential for examination progress. Certificates must be claimed within six months of the exam.

Safeguarding

  • The welfare of children and young people is our priority. All teachers hold current DBS certificates, full insurance, and complete continuing professional development each year.
  • Our full safeguarding and child protection policy is available on request from the school principal, Sue Cook.
  • If you have a safeguarding concern, contact the principal at sue@geraldinelamb.dance or 01752 417135.
